This time I want to talk about the indie production called The Grand Budapest Hotel, directed by Wes Anderson, who brought us the Moonrise Kingdom. As we can see, Edward Norton has been the choice of the director once again. Apart from him, we can see quite lot of other well-known actors on screen, such as Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Willem DaFoe, Jude Law and Tilda Swinton.
In the republic of Zubrowka, to the Grand Budapest, there comes the old man named Zero Moustafa, who is telling his story about how he's become the owner of the hotel, which was once a spectacular place and now is only the breath of the old times, between the both world wars. We go through the times when he was being a hotel boy and the assistant of the great consierge - Gustave H, who is being accused of the theft of the famous painting. Obviously, you have to watch it to see where their crazy adventures will bring them. And I can tell you for sure that it's really not easy to predict something.
The film is filled with a quite specific, absurdal, black sense of humour, but one has to treat the story with the pinch of salt to enjoy watching it. It is being very unconventional as well as in the matter of storytelling and as well as in the matter of the technique it was made in. The creations of the actors are original, eccentric and charismatic, it's not the film of the one actor. Everyone made a wonderful job. The thing that impressed me the most is a breath-taking cinematography. Even if the story or the sense of humour isn't the one in your kind, it's truly a feast for the eyes and it's worth to watch just for it. I hope you may enjoy it and it will be a great film experience for you as well to watch this outstanding production.
